Welcome to TWFS, a not-for-profit club for lovers of classic films and movies.
- Do you want - perhaps even need - to see good or great classic films across the ages?
- Do you wish to learn more about the best directors, producers, and actors?
- Do you prefer a real cinema, with full-size screen, high quality projectors and friendly staff?
- Do you enjoy watching films in the company of the like-minded and appreciative?
- Do you live within reasonable range of Wells?
Yes? Then TWFS, started in September 2003, is probably for you.
Otherwise you may never watch some great films as their directors meant them to be seen. That small box in the corner of a living room can never substitute for real cinema.
Whether you are a casual enjoyer of films, a film buff, or a film freak doesn't matter. Whether you are 15, 50 or 150, likewise. You want to see the very best films and movies? You want to say what films you would like to watch? To influence? Of course you do. And so do all our other members. Which means that you will need an open mind - and that’s yours, surely?
So be prepared to see films which others think are good, excellent or, at least, fascinating for their place in movie history - or for their idiosyncracies. You may find yourself agreeing. You’ll learn, as we are all doing. And maybe you'll be surprised - astonished, even - as many of us have been.
